Wireless Instruments

New to GHWT is a redesigned, more responsive guitar controller, which features a touch-sensitive slide bar on the neck that allows the player to play through certain song passages without needing to strum. Check out the drum kit featuring three drum pads, two raised cymbals, and a bass kick pedal. The drum controller combines larger and quieter, velocity-sensitive drum heads with soft rubber construction to deliver authentic bounce back and is easy to set up, move, break down and store.

Be the Next Great Songwriter

Music Studio lets players express their musical creativity by giving them access to a full complement of tools to create digital music from scratch utilizing the guitar controller and drum kit. Players can create their tracks and then play them in-game or share the recordings with the entire Guitar Hero community through GHTunes. GHTunes allows other gamers from around the world to download and play the community's original tracks. Available to Xbox 360 gamers is Line 6's guitar tone technology, enabling them to use amps, cabs, and effects from the Line 6 POD.

Create the Band

Budding rock stars can live out their rock ?n? roll fantasies by playing either a single instrument or any combination of instruments, in addition to the full band experience. When rocking as part of a band, up to four players can jam together in quickplay or as they progress through a career. Both band and single-player careers feature non-linear progression giving artists the option to change difficulty and instruments with a variety of different gigs available at any time.

Never Jam Solo Again

Virtual musicians in need of band mates can take their careers online forming worldwide ensembles so no rock star ever has to play a gig solo. Plus, GHWT adds a "Battle of the Bands" modes, which allows eight players to join online and challenge each other band-to-band to establish global supremacy.

Customize Everything

The character creator allows gamers to create a rock star with style as unique as their own. Absolute customization from the clothes, to the facial and body structure, to the tattoos and accessories, players are encouraged to unleash their inner rock legend. The Rock Star Creator doesn't just allow players to build the ultimate rock god; the in-depth creators include the ability to customize guitars, drums and microphones. Adding yet another layer of personalization, gamers can create custom logos for their instruments, band, or album covers.

A Set List for the Ages

The Guitar Hero World Tour set list is comprised entirely of master recordings from some of the greatest artists of all-time including Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles, and Sublime. Great Fun until the Red Drum Pad failed

PROS:
1. The game-play was better than expected.
2. The Drums are awesome to play (Except that the foot petal doesn't have good feed-back)
3. The song list is much better than Rock Band 2.
4. Just plan fun. (If you like Metallica, the Metallica Download pack is also worth the $$)
CONS:
1. After a few hours of play the Red Drum Pad became non-responsive to light and medium hits. Activision sent a USB cable adapter to "Tune" it on my PC but it didn't fix the problem. **This appears to be a common issue**
OVERALL:
I'm not ready to do the do-it-yourself fix on my brand new Drum Set so I'm returning this one. (Amazon is providing free return shipping) -This is a must have game but I think I'll wait until Activision has worked out the bugs before I buy a replacement Band Kit.

Drums

I love the game, but the drums quit working not long after receiving the kit. Customer assistance from Activision appears non-existent as they haven't answered my e-mail after a week and I don't have all day to spend on the phone waiting for someone. I would not purchase this item until they get the bugs worked out and improve the quality of "construction" as well as the quality of their product support

So Much Fun

I'm a fan of guitar hero and when I read all these bad reviews I was a bit hesitant to buy it but I was wrong. This game is awsome. I'm a Guitar Hero fan if you rockband fan don't dis Guitar Hero.

If you have played Rock Band - you will hate GH:WT

I can't believe Neversoft couldn't come up with something better than this. I guess they saved all their money for Heidi Klum and Kobe for advertising. Character customization? Who cares. There are a lot of good songs, if you only want to play guitar. however there are a LOT more crappy songs then you'd find on Rock Band. If you have played Rock Band you will hate the band interface, have no idea how to use band star power and will have very little choice in what set lists you play. The star/streak meter and band info is WAAAAY up in the far corner which is nearly impossible to see without looking away from your fret! FORGET about good online play - that interface STINKS! You can't see what the band leader is doing.... which is PICKING THE NEXT SETLIST! This game is a LOUSY version of Rock Band. SAVE YOUR MONEY - if you have Rock Band already, go rent it - you'll thank me for it.

RedOctane is very dissapointing

I am a big guitar hero fan, so much so that I am willing to forgive a lot of things because I usually have a lot of fun with them so it is worth the bugs. This time, I am pretty dissapointed at RedOctane's customer service. Like most, one of my cymbals didn't work right out of the box, and I definitely have sensitive issues on some of the other drums. SO, I have to put in a return request, wait 3 days for an email, return the cymbal with insurance and tracking at MY cost, then wait 3 weeks for them to either fix it or return it. Meanwhile, my family can't play the game that we spend $240 on. For the sensitivity issue, I have to wait for them to send me a MIDI cable, move my Xbox and TV so that my computer can reach them, and then tune the drums.
I would return the entire product and buy Rock Band, but you cannot return an open item for a refund, even if it was broken. Only for another product and even then you have to pay your own shipping and a 15% restocking fee.
I will never buy another RedOctane product again. They lost a loyal customer.
